Poorer households are spending a higher percentage of their incomes on student loan debt than better-off families, a study by Pew Research Center finds–12 cents of every dollar taken in, compared with two cents for wealthier households.  This is a significant increase from 2007, when poor households spent a more manageable seven cents for every dollar.
